Project director "Greenfield Tissue Paper Mill", Setif, Algeria


At the moment Faderco is making plans to invest in a second tissue paper mill. To guide this project to a successful start-up we are looking for an project manager that will manage the project from concept to commissioning. (estimated investment 30 million euro)


Faderco is founded in 1986 and is a family owned company located in Algeria.

Today Faderco is a major player in the Algerian personal care industry. The company has achieved a sustained growth over the last 30 years. Faderco’s employs 1600 employees and produce 11 brands in 7 strategic areas. The company owns 4 converting plants and a tissue paper mill. This tissue paper mill is specialized in the production of jumbo reels. The site was started up in 2015 (30 million investment)


The project manager will report directly to the COO of FADERCO and you will be expected to complete the following tasks/projects:

  • Review, advise and appraise the best fitting equipment for the tissue paper mill.
  • Liaise with the COO and the CEO at all stages of the project and process and be the key point of contact throughout the process.
  • Source and manage all sub contractors, vendors and equipment
  • Create and monitor a safe working environment
  • Manage the project team, site activity and project execution from start to completion of the project.
  • Oversee the installation of the equipment and machinery and all civil, building and engineering works involved in the project.
  • Ensure the project is kept on budget and within agreed timescales, communicating all issues and progress with the Management team



The successful candidate will have the following experiences and skills:-

  • More than 10 years of experience as a operations manager / plant manager within the tissue paper industry
  • Experience with project management of greenfield / brownfield tissue paper machine projects
  • You must have had experience in preparing project budgets, project time frames and managed resources;
  • Should be fully aware of the government rules and regulations on setting up a new facility and to be able to advise the owners on the best suitable equipment;
  • You need to have previous experience of setting up manufacturing operations from concept to commissioning
  • You should be a strong communicator with excellent organisation skills and a strong ability to manage budgets, people and work to deadlines.
  • Experience within the Tissue Paper industry is essential for this assignment.



The project is anticipated to last between 1.5-2 years, after which time there will be options to continue with the business in a operations management roles.

This is an important strategic step for this business and as such they need a Project Manager who can be trusted to execute and advise accordingly on all matters relating to setting up a Greenfield manufacturing operation.

Our client is offering an attractive monthly salary which will consist of a basic salary, housing & company car. In addition to the monthly salary, you will receive a number of flight tickets to your home country.
