To meet the requirements of the luxury brands regarding packaging, we’ve successfully started to make our Sappemeer mill dedicated to this market. We are looking for a Mill Manager who will further implement the strategic plans to grow Eska into a leading player in the field of solid board packaging for the luxury brands.

We are looking for a Mill Manager, experienced in the world of paper & solid board, having affinity with the premium- and luxury packaging world. He or she is able to translate the market requirements in a multi-year action plan. Quality and innovation are key drivers in this role.

With 140 years of practical experience in solid board trade we have built incomprehensive knowledge to provide the market with the right products. Our boards can be found in many products, all over the world. We dare to make the claim that everybody will have a product at home that was made of Eska material.

Today Eska’s production is 100% of recycled paper. Per year more than 275,000 tons of solid board is produced in the Hoogezand and Sappemeer mills. Our products are used in luxury packaging, in hard-covers books, puzzles and games, stationery products and many more.

More than 350 motivated and enthusiastic people work in our mills and offices in Hoogezand and Sappemeer, with additional 100 colleagues abroad.

As a mill manager, your main activities are:

  • Together with your team you strive actively for excellent safety performance (goal: people feel responsible not only for their own actions but also for their colleagues).
  • You develop and implement plans in line with the overall strategy and elaborate these plans into feasible sub-plans.
  • You ensure availability of mid- and long-term organizational development plans for the production department in topics such as staff, capacity, productivity, investments, processing and quality in line with the strategic plan.
  • You actively look for opportunities to reduce costs and optimizing production, processes and quality.
  • You take initiative and get involved in introducing, approving and executing proposals for continuous improvement projects in areas of responsibility such as: safety, health, environment, working climate, products, productivity, investments, energy management, total quality approach, ISO, costs and profit optimization.

In this position you report to the Operational Manager. You lead directly 10 employees and indirect +/- 73 employees.



Required skills and qualifications:

  • Master degree.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • 5 years of proven management experience within a manufacturing environment in board and/or paper.
  • Experience with the production of board is a must.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Knowledge of English and German languages (verbal and in writing).
  • Demonstrated personal flexibility, open and receptive and an excellent listener.
  • Take initiatives.
