Converting Manager, Laval-sur-Vologne (France)


The tissue plant in Laval sur Vologne is producing and converting 55.000 ton of tissue paper with 220 FTE.  In the converting department the tissue paper is transformed on 11 converting machines into products for the end consumers like, toilet paper, kitchen towels, industrial roles, hand towels, napkins etc. In the converting department are 120 employees working in a 3 and 5 shift operations.The position is part of the operations Management Team.

In the position of Converting Manager, the main objectives are:

  • Organize, implement, optimize, and follow production in accordance with the production requirements, objectives and budget.
  • Enhance and improve production processes with objectives in safety, costs, time, quantity and quality.
  • Focus on safety in the mill.
  • Guarantee and explain the factory and group reporting on performance.
  • Identify the main objectives of action and manage the action plans to be implemented.
  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 120 employees.
  • Five shift leaders report to you.


Lucart group is a leading European company in the production of MG paper, tissue products (paper items for daily use such as toilet paper, kitchen paper, napkins, tablecloths, handkerchiefs etc.) and airlaid products.

Lucart’s production capacity is 395,000 tonnes/year of paper on 12 continuous machines and 65 converting lines. Its consolidated turnover will amount to more than €450 million, with more than 1,500 employees in 10 production plants (five in Italy, one in France, one in Hungary and three in Spain) and a Logistic Center in Italy.

We are looking for an ambitious converting manager for our plant in Laval sur Vologne.


  • Ensure the framework constraints according to the defined planning;
  • Be responsible for following the procedures and/or decisions in collaboration with your department;
  • Be responsible for the achievement of the objectives;
  • Manage the personnel of the converting department: selection, hiring remuneration (in collaboration with the HR department);
  • Building a safety awareness culture to ensure the safety of staff and make every effort to guarantee it;
  • Guarantee and ensure compliance with the rules of procedure and the labor code;
  • Build a continuous improvement culture and act as a CI driver;
  • Respect the QHSEÉ approach of the company.



  • A minimum of five years experience in a in manufacturing surrounding, preferably in the tissue industry, packaging industry or converting industry.
  • Experience in a (project) leadership position.
  • Oriented profile on safety/quality/ performance.
  • Experience in the management and development of teams in working shifts.
  • Change management (process).
  • Experience in building a Continuous improvement culture (Lean).
  • Strong operational presence.
  • Synthetic ability and solution oriented.
  • Dynamic person, full of enthusiasm.
  • Fluent in French, plus good knowledge of English.
  • Willing to relocate to Vosges-area.
